Vontae Davis is a cornerback for the Indianapolis Colts. He was drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. As of now, he’s on injured reserve and is out for the season. Are they related? As it turns out, the answer to this question is no. Stefan Diggs and Vontae Davis are not related. However, their careers have been closely linked due to their shared position as a cornerback in the NFL.

What is Vontae Davis?

Vontae Davis is an American football cornerback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts with the seventh pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and Baltimore Ravens. Davis has made three Pro Bowl appearances and two All-Pro teams.

Davis Gives Statement On Stefan Diggs Arrest

On September 24th, Stefon Diggs was taken into custody by police in Minneapolis. He has been charged with Hennepin County Jail for Assault and False Imprisonment. The Vikings released a statement saying that they are “committed to fully investigating the matter.”

It seems that there is some doubt as to whether or not Davis is related to Stefan Diggs, but regardless of their relation, it’s important to get to the bottom of what happened on September 24th.

According to the criminal complaint, Stefon Diggs and another man were arguing outside a night club when Stefan Diggs allegedly punched the other man in the face. This then led to Stefan Diggs being arrested and charged with Assault and False Imprisonment.

Diggs Allegedly Threatens to Kill Davis

According to multiple reports, Washington Redskins cornerback Stefan Diggs allegedly threatened to kill Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Vontae Davis. The threats reportedly occurred after Davis hit Diggs with a celebratory shoulder tackle following a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Rams’ 42-14 victory over the Redskins on Sunday.

Diggs was seen on video threatening to “kill” Davis and said, “I’ll f–king kill you.” TMZ Sports quoted Diggs as saying, “I’ll kill you, you f—— n—–.”

Davis’s mother told reporters that her son is terrified of Diggs and is currently staying at home. NFL Network’s Jane Slater reported that the league is looking into the matter.

This isn’t the first time that Diggs has been accused of threatening violence against others. In 2016, he was arrested for striking a motorcyclist with his car in Minnesota. He was charged with felony assault but ultimately pleaded guilty to driving without due care and went on probation.

What Does This Mean For Davis’ Career?

Davis may have a big decision to make in the coming months as he looks to continue his NFL career. Davis is currently under contract with the Indianapolis Colts and has one year left on his current deal. If Davis were to choose to retire, he would receive a $9 million dollar paycheck from the Colts in 2018.

However, if Davis decides to continue playing, there are a few teams that could be interested in signing him. The Jacksonville Jaguars are one team that could be interested in signing Davis as they are in need of a defensive back. The Chiefs also have expressed interest in signing Davis as they need someone who can play at cornerback and safety.

If Davis were to sign with either of those teams, it would likely mean that he would start opposite of Aqib Talib on Sunday’s against the Los Angeles Rams. However, if he signs with the Jaguars and Talib moves on, then Davis could see some playing time next season.
